Jean McNeil

Jean McNeil is the author of nine books of fiction, travel and literary essays. Her novel Private View was nominated for the Governor General’s Literary Award in Canada. In 2005–06 she was the British Antarctic Survey/Arts Council of England International Fellow to Antarctica and her most recent novel, The Ice Lovers (2009) is set in the Antarctic. She teaches on the Creative Writing MA at the University of East Anglia and in 2009-10 was writer-in-residence at the Environment Institute at University College London. A collection of poetry from the Arctic and the Antarctic, Night Orders, is forthcoming in 2010.
