Every young person deserves the opportunity to realise the power of their story.
Young people from low-income backgrounds are often cut off from opportunities to nurture their creativity, putting their voices and confidence at risk. Each year, First Story gives thousands of students a unique opportunity to explore their talent and express themselves. Participants and teachers report that our programme increases confidence, self-esteem and aspiration, as well as strengthening writing and reading skills. First Story students also tend to perform beyond expectations in exams and have improved school attendance and engagement.
