Join the First Editions Club

The First Story charity gala dinner is attended by, author John O'Farrell, actor Dominic West and the founders William Fiennes and Katie Waldegrave. First Story supports and inspires creativity, literacy and confidence in challenging UK secondary schools and their communities. Through our year-long programme, disadvantaged young people gain access to weekly creative-writing workshops with an acclaimed writer, enabling them to develop their self-esteem, resilience and future prospects. From September, we will be running the First Story project in fifty schools across the East Midlands, Lancashire, London, Oxfordshire, Yorkshire and Gloucestershire. We are incredibly grateful for the support of the First Editions Club which is crucial in helping us to carry out our work and planning our development into new schools.

As schools increasingly recognise the value of First Story and our waiting list grows, we find ourselves working harder than ever to financially secure our future.

In order for us to reach as many young people as we can, you can help us by joining our small group of devoted supporters: by making an annual gift of £5,000 or pledging £3,000 a year for three years, our First Editions help ensure we have the means to deliver our innovative, high-quality programme to young people who would not otherwise have access to this type of development opportunity.

The First Editions title reflects the value and close relationship of this group to the heart of our organisation. By joining the Club, you will be invited to several events throughout the year at which you can meet our writers, see students proudly showcase their writing and witness the transformational impact of your donation on many young lives. You will also receive a selection of anthologies every year, and we will keep you updated with First Story news and school events.
