Anthony Cropper, Writer-in-Residence

‘Stories are at the heart of communication and the stories we construct and tell ourselves not only provide meaning and identity, they can both push and limit us. Creative writing sessions help critique the stories we tell ourselves and help us explore identity and understand our “storied lives”.

Creative writing fosters quick thinking, innovation, reflection and revision. It offers a creative space for expression and is a means to improve technical aspects of writing and editing as well as offering an exploration of the self. Writing groups foster empathy, they develop critical thinking skills and help people learn how to give and accept feedback: all valuable life skills.’
